TOP INSIGHTS

A weekly roundup of Angi: Find Local Home Services's key feedback

1

Excessive Contact

Many users are frustrated by the overwhelming number of calls, texts, and emails they receive from contractors after using Angi, with approximately 15% of users expressing this concern. This aggressive communication can be intrusive and off-putting, leading some to prefer contacting contractors directly.

I received 8 calls, 3 texts, and 2 emails within 15 minutes of signing up.

2

Billing Issues

A significant number of users, around 10%, report being charged for services that were not completed or authorized, leading to dissatisfaction and distrust in Angi's billing practices. This issue is compounded by difficulties in obtaining refunds.

I was charged for a service that was never completed and didn't receive a refund.

3

Customer Service Problems

Users frequently complain about poor customer service, particularly the inability to resolve issues effectively, with about 12% of users mentioning this problem. The offshore support and scripted responses contribute to a frustrating experience.

After multiple calls and emails, I couldn't get my issue resolved by their offshore customer service.

4

App Functionality Issues

Some users, approximately 8%, experience technical difficulties with the app, such as login problems and navigation issues, which hinder their ability to use the service effectively.

I can't log in or change my password, and the app keeps saying my code is incorrect.

Quotes of the week

Hear from some of the most impactful users to drive changes

This service is so annoying. They give your number to so many contractors that call you relentlessly and then the Angi project manager also calls you. You would have better luck just contacting three local contractors to get quotes rather than be contacted for weeks.

I am not sure what is up with this app, but I cannot log on, cannot change my password, and whenever I do get to the point that I checked my email for the code. It tells me that the code is incorrect. I know I’m not the only one that has this issue. They need to fix this.

I created an account to get pricing for landscaping. Within 15 minutes I get 8 phone calls, three texts, and two emails all from the same company. Contractors should only be given access to message you via the app until you decide otherwise.
