TOP INSIGHTS

A weekly roundup of Park Smarter's key feedback

1

Payment Confirmation Issues

A significant number of users (around 20%) report that the app does not sync with parking meters to show payment confirmation, leading to confusion and potential wrongful parking tickets. Users suggest that syncing the app with meters to display active sessions would improve reliability.

The app doesn't show payment on the meter, causing confusion and potential tickets.

2

Notification Failures

Approximately 15% of users are frustrated by the app's failure to send timely notifications about remaining parking time, which is a basic expectation for a parking app. This oversight can lead to users unintentionally overstaying their parking time.

The app doesn't notify me when my parking time is about to expire, risking tickets.

3

Loading and Usability Problems

Around 25% of users experience issues with the app not loading properly, getting stuck on screens, or failing to display parking zones, making it difficult or impossible to pay for parking. This severely impacts the app's usability and reliability.

The app often fails to load parking zones, making it unusable for payment.

4

Unauthorized Charges

A concerning issue for about 10% of users is the app directing them to other services during sign-up, resulting in unauthorized charges. This deceptive practice undermines trust and requires users to reverse charges through their financial institutions.

The app signed me up for other services without consent, leading to unexpected charges.

Quotes of the week

Hear from some of the most impactful users to drive changes

The Park Smarter app is convenient for paying for parking remotely, but it has a major flaw—the meter itself does not indicate that payment has been made through the app. This creates unnecessary confusion and can lead to wrongful parking tickets, as enforcement officers may assume the space is unpaid.

Why in the world would you make a parking app that DOESN’T SEND NOTIFICATIONS REGARDING TIME REMAINING?! I’m just glad I didn’t get towed. Basic use case. Easy design. This is just lazy and/or corrupt development.

I never ever write app reviews but this app annoys me so bad. I use it to pay to park at my university and about 1/2 the time it doesn’t load any zones for me to pay. Not all of our meters work so it’s impossible for me to pay sometimes if it doesn’t load.
