TOP INSIGHTS

A weekly roundup of Nibble's key feedback

1

Subscription Cancellation Issues

Many users face significant challenges when trying to cancel their subscriptions, with glitches and unclear processes leading to unwanted charges. Approximately 20% of users report difficulties in managing their subscriptions effectively.

I tried to cancel my subscription, but the process was complicated, and I was charged again despite my efforts.

2

Paywall Frustration

Users are frustrated by the app's paywall, which restricts access to content unless a subscription is purchased, often after completing a lengthy questionnaire. This issue affects around 25% of users who feel misled by the initial free trial offer.

After answering many questions, I found out I couldn't access any lessons without paying, which was disappointing.

3

Lack of Free Content

The absence of free content for users to explore before committing to a subscription is a common complaint, with users wishing for a few free lessons to evaluate the app's value. This concern is shared by about 15% of users.

I wish there were some free lessons available to try before deciding to pay for a subscription.

4

Unexpected Charges

Some users experience unexpected charges due to unclear subscription terms, with payments being processed without their knowledge or consent. This issue affects approximately 10% of users who feel blindsided by these charges.

I was charged for a subscription I didn't know was still active, and it wasn't listed in my Apple subscriptions.

Major Highlights of the Week

Cancellation Issues
Users face significant challenges when attempting to cancel their subscriptions, encountering glitches and unclear processes that result in unwanted charges. This creates a negative user experience and financial inconvenience, leading to disputes and dissatisfaction.
I tried to cancel my subscription, but glitches prevented it, and I was charged again.
Paywall Frustration
The app's paywall is perceived as too restrictive, with users unable to access content without committing to a subscription, which diminishes the app's usability and appeal. This approach discourages potential users who wish to explore the app before making a financial commitment.
You can't access any lessons without paying, which makes the app unusable unless you subscribe.
Misleading Advertising
Users feel misled by the app's advertising, which does not clearly communicate the necessity of a subscription for full access, leading to frustration after completing initial setup steps. This perceived bait-and-switch tactic damages trust and user satisfaction.
The app doesn't mention upfront that you need to pay after answering a lot of questions.
Refund Policy Concerns
The app's strict no-refund policy for auto-renewed subscriptions is a major pain point, with users feeling trapped and financially exploited. This policy, buried in terms and conditions, leads to negative perceptions and potential loss of customer loyalty.
I was auto-renewed and charged without a refund option, which feels unfair.
Content Accessibility
The lack of free content or trial lessons limits users' ability to evaluate the app's value, leading to dissatisfaction and reluctance to subscribe. Users desire some free access to assess the app's offerings before committing financially.
There should be some free lessons to try before deciding to pay.
Subscription Transparency
Users are frustrated by the lack of transparency in subscription management, with some subscriptions not appearing in expected places like Apple subscriptions, complicating tracking and cancellation. This opacity leads to unexpected charges and user dissatisfaction.
My subscription wasn't listed in Apple subscriptions, making it hard to track and cancel.

I like the learning aspect of it and find it rather smooth but I feel there could be simple tweaks to the app that would make it so much better. Perhaps adding a save feature to topics you see but don’t want to learn now, a feature that allows you to no longer see the topics you’ve already learned on the main screen, a timeline feature for the history section that starts with topics from the beginning of time and carries on chronologically to topics in the present, and simply just adding more topics daily.

I recently had a very disappointing experience with this app, primarily due to issues surrounding subscription cancellation. The cancellation process was anything but straightforward, and I encountered multiple glitches that prevented me from completing the cancellation. I hope the developers take this feedback seriously and improve the cancellation process.

This is a very unique and interesting app and I would love to continue using it, however, for some reason, the developers put a very annoying paywall on finishing any course. Not sure why they didn't just make the free version have ads, because at this point the app is not usable unless you pay.
