TOP INSIGHTS

A weekly roundup of RISE: Sleep Tracker's key feedback

1

Subscription Issues

A significant number of users, approximately 20%, report issues with unexpected charges after the free trial period, with many feeling misled by the lack of notification before being charged. This has led to frustration and dissatisfaction with the app's billing practices.

I was charged $74.19 without any notification after the trial, despite multiple notifications about sleep cycles.

2

Inaccurate Sleep Tracking

Around 15% of users experience problems with the app inaccurately tracking their sleep, particularly for those with irregular sleep schedules or night shifts, leading to incorrect sleep debt calculations and frustration.

The app logged sleep when I was awake during my night shift, and I couldn't delete the incorrect data.

3

Difficult Cancellation

Approximately 10% of users find it challenging to cancel their subscription or delete the app, with some reporting that the process is cumbersome and not straightforward, causing additional frustration.

I tried to delete the app, but it redirected me to a site and wouldn't erase my info for 5-7 days.

4

High Subscription Cost

About 12% of users express dissatisfaction with the high cost of the subscription, feeling that the price is not justified by the app's features, especially for younger users or those on a budget.

As a high schooler, I can't afford the $70 subscription, which is too expensive for improving sleep.

Quotes of the week

Hear from some of the most impactful users to drive changes

I did the 7 day free trial and cancelled it immediately because of the other reviews saying they didn't notify before charging at the end of the 7 days. Now, at first I thought this was a great tool, however it will try to add a sleep cycle even when you've been awake all night. There's not an option to say you haven't been asleep at all.

I love this app and it’s gotten me to respect my sleep boundaries to ensure I’m getting an ample amount of rest every night. However, when I’ve traveled to a different time zone the app struggles to calculate the time change and messes up my sleep schedule routine messages.

I don’t usually pay for apps and didn’t like the idea of paying for this one, but well worth the money. Would be really cool if they could account for caffeine intake with body weight/age/height/body fat percentage, etc. and how it affects sleep.
