Major Highlights of the Week

Shipping Costs
Users are frustrated that prizes labeled as 'free' require payment for shipping, which diminishes the perceived value of rewards. This unexpected cost is a barrier to claiming rewards, leading to dissatisfaction.
Every time I try to claim a prize, it’s free but you have to pay for shipping.
Notification Bug
The app gets stuck on the notification permission screen, preventing users from proceeding further. This issue persists even after multiple reinstalls, causing significant user frustration.
I am trying to get in but when I get to the allow notifications part, it just stays on the purple screen.
Step Counting Errors
The app fails to accurately count steps, especially when using the Boost feature, leading to discrepancies between actual steps and those recorded by Sweatcoin. This inconsistency undermines user trust in the app's core functionality.
I do a workout, and it’s not counting my steps, even though my Apple Watch does.
Limited Sign-Up Options
The app only allows sign-up through Apple ID, excluding users who prefer or require alternative sign-in methods like Google or email. This limitation restricts user accessibility and convenience.
Why can you only use an Apple ID? How about adding a sign-up with Google option?
Ads in Premium
Premium users are still subjected to ads, which disrupts the user experience and contradicts expectations of an ad-free premium service. This issue is significant enough to cause users to consider canceling their subscriptions.
I like the app, but ads still appear in premium, ruining the UX.
Rewards Availability
Gift cards and valuable rewards are frequently out of stock, making it difficult for users to redeem their sweatcoins. This scarcity leads to perceptions of the app as a scam and diminishes user motivation.
The gift cards are always sold out, making the app feel like a scam.

Quotes of the week

Hear from some of the most impactful users to drive changes

I've had the app for many years. Lately, it hasn't been calculating my steps properly and it keeps breaking my streak. I've reached out to customer service and tried what they suggested and it's still not working. The app used to be amazing and very accurate and now I'm incredibly disappointed by the lack of accuracy.

I’ve been using Sweatcoin for a while now, around 2 or more years, and no matter how much I earn and try to redeem rewards, I never win anything worthwhile. It seems like you have to pay for the premium version to have any real chance at getting rewards, which defeats the purpose of a 'free' step-counting app.

I like the app, the concept, and everything except the ads, and especially ads still appearing in premium. The UX is destroyed and the app has to be closed and reopened to navigate. It’s enough of a problem that I’ll cancel my subscription. Please fix. Watching ads in a paid subscription movement app is not acceptable.
