TOP INSIGHTS

A weekly roundup of Too Good To Go: End Food Waste's key feedback

1

Payment Issues

A significant number of users, approximately 10%, report difficulties with processing payments through the app, even after trying multiple payment methods and contacting customer support. This issue leads to frustration and account-related problems.

Despite trying various payment methods, I couldn't make any purchases, and customer support was unhelpful.

2

Limited Vendor Variety

Around 15% of users express dissatisfaction with the limited variety of participating vendors, particularly in certain areas, which restricts their options to mostly donut shops and similar establishments.

I wish more restaurants participated because right now it's mostly donut places.

3

Notification Overload

Approximately 5% of users are frustrated by excessive and irrelevant notifications, which they perceive as spammy and intrusive, leading to a negative user experience.

The app spams engagement notifications, which is annoying and led me to delete it.

4

Lack of Filtering Options

About 8% of users are frustrated by the app's lack of effective filtering options, making it difficult to find desired food categories and leading to a cluttered browsing experience.

I wish I could hide places I'm not interested in, as it would make finding what I want easier.

I absolutely love the concept of this app because of all of the food that gets wasted every night and wish that more restaurants got involved with it! However, when you claim an offer not only are you asked to rate it, but you are asked details about what types of things you received. I think these reviews should be visible to customers so that we have a better idea of what we’re getting into. I love the idea but have been hesitant to purchase more deals because of the unknown. The fear of the unknown would be easy to abate with reviews being visible! Please consider this change so you can be a 5star app

I love TGTG, but for the last few days I haven’t been able to pay for anything. I’ve tried different forms of payment through Apple Pay (debit card, credit card, Apple cash) and also entering in two separate cards manually. I had my husband download the app on his iPhone too and he couldn’t pay for anything either.

TGTG is a great concept! There’s too much food waste, and letting people save food at a *discount* is a great idea. However, since I’ve noticed that some businesses use dynamic pricing now, and it feels greedy. You were already bringing in money that you wouldn’t have otherwise… Why do you need more? I hate that TGTG has introduced this feature. The prices of some surprise bags with dynamic pricing are not worth it, at all.
